A Master-slave contract is used to forcefully make an Elemental Beast become a Soul beast. This type of contract doesn’t give any kind of benefit to either the Martial Artist or the Elemental Beast. A Martial Artist can form as many Master-slave contracts it wishes to form, as there is no limit, but those Elemental Beasts will not be loyal to it and will always look out for an opportunity to strike back to free themselves from slavery.

Generally, descendants of Ancient Elemental Beasts or Divine Elemental Beasts are forcefully made to enter a Master-slave contract as the chances of forming an Equal contract with them are very low. All the people who were interested in the Dragon-serpent egg were thinking of enslaving the Dragon-serpent after it hatched from its egg, seeing as a Dragon-serpent with the bloodlines of two Tyrannical existences was bound to be a powerful Elemental Beast when it matured.

There are quite a few factions under the Divine Martial Sect and they wanted the Dragon-serpent for its potential to turn into a terrifying existence in the future. If they were able to get it, then in the future they would have a powerful Elemental Beast in their ranks.

Ryan returned to the Martial Pavilion soon afterwards. He’d already decided to attend the auction in four days. He had a million Death Attribute High-grade Elemental stones which were of not much use to him as Death Sword could provide him with limitless Death Elemental Energy of notably high purity. He had already decided to make sure that the Dragon-serpent became his Soul beast.

Time passed, and the day of the auction had come. Ryan had already left the Martial Pavilion and was heading towards the Auction House located in the central area of the Inner region.

The past four days had been quite fruitful for Ryan. He’d been successful in creating charms that contained powerful Flame attacks made up of Devil’s Flame and Hell’s Fire Flame. He’d already created a bunch of them for use during emergency situations. Even though Ryan was still a Late Mortal Elite Realm Martial Artist, both his Devil’s Flame and Hell’s Fire Flame could burn even Late Mortal Lords into nothingness without them being able to put up any kind of resistance. Ryan could use these charms during emergency situations – or when he was low on Spirit Power, as activating a charm didn’t require a lot of Spirit Power.

It didn’t take him a lot of time to arrive at the Auction House, which was a grandiose building that looked no different from a palace. Anyone could tell with a single look that this Auction House was not just a simple building, but most likely an artifact. It was spread over an area of four hundred hectares or so.

Thousands of people had assembled near the entrance of the Auction House while a few hundred people were hovering in the sky above the Auction House. Those people had an unearthly aura surrounding them. Ryan could tell that they were Immortals, as their auras were quite like Aaron’s.

None of the people standing on the ground dared to look at the Immortals hovering up in the sky. Those Immortals belonged to different factions under the Divine Martial Sect. In Divine Martial City, only Immortal Realm Martial Artists had the right to fly. If a Mortal Realm Martial Artist was found flying, he or she would be severely punished. The crowd outside the Auction House was getting bigger and bigger with each passing minute, but Ryan also joined it and he patiently waited for the Auction House to open its gates.

“Honorable Elder, are the two star items that are going to be auctioned off today that valuable?” Ryan asked an old man who stood beside him in the crowd. Ryan was baffled by the size of the crowd attracted by both those star items. He was starting to doubt whether he would be able to get the Dragon-serpent egg. The old man turned his head towards Ryan and sized him up before giving him a smile. The old man liked the way Ryan had addressed him. There were not many people in Divine Martial city that talked to him in such a respectful manner.

“The Dragon-serpent has bloodlines of two Tyrannical existences. Both the bloodlines have mid-grade bloodline purity. If a faction spent a lot of resources on the Dragon-serpent, then it would be possible to increase the bloodline purity of its bloodlines by a level. It will surely become a Tyrannical existence at some time in the future. Many of Divine Martial Sect’s factions want the Dragon-serpent egg. For this reason, the Sect had no choice but to auction it off to give everyone a fair chance of acquiring it,” the old man explained.

After a moment, he continued. “There are also some people who want this egg as an ingredient. It could be used to make a Dragon Physique pill, which could allow a Martial Artist with a Dragon Martial Spirit to gain the Tyrannical Physique of a dragon. Such a pill could only be used by young Martial Artists, so the factions that have young geniuses with Dragon Martial Spirits will go all out to get the Dragon-serpent egg,” the old man explained further. On hearing this, Ryan finally understood why such a massive crowd had come to the Auction House.

“What about the Viper’s Touch Immortal Plant Spirit? Is it comparatively less precious than the Dragon-serpent egg?” Ryan asked.

“Viper’s Touch Immortal Plant Spirit is a bit special. It lives alongside an Emerald viper or an Elemental Beast with its bloodline. The Immortal Plant Spirit that is to be auctioned off today has yet to find an Emerald viper or an Elemental Beast with its bloodline to depend upon for protection,” the old man answered.

“Emerald viper and Viper’s Touch Plant Spirit have a symbiotic relationship with each other. The Emerald viper, or an Elemental Beast with its bloodline, gives protection to Viper’s Touch Plant Spirit, while in return, the Viper’s Touch Plant Spirit purifies Poison Elemental Energy for it. The purity of the purified Poison Elemental Energy is notably high, but this Plant Spirit only does this for Emerald vipers or Elemental Beasts with its bloodline,” he added.

“Even though this Plant Spirit doesn’t purify Poison Elemental Energy for other beings, it is still a Plant Spirit, and an Immortal Plant Spirit at that. Its essence could still be absorbed by an Immortal Realm Poison Martial Artist, which would, in turn, increase his or her insights and understanding of Poison Elemental Laws. A lot of Immortal Realm Poison Martial Artists will go all out for the Viper’s Touch Immortal Plant Spirit at the auction as it can increase their potential and understanding of Poison Elemental Laws,” the old man explained a little further.

After hearing about specialties of the Viper’s Touch Immortal Plant Spirit, Ryan was very interested in it. If he could form a symbiotic relationship with this Immortal Plant Spirit, then he too could have exceptionally pure Poison Elemental Energy for cultivation.

“Thank you, Elder,” Ryan said with a slight bow.

“No need,” the old man said with a smile.

Finally, the gates of the Auction House were opened. Inside the gate, there were two entrances. Ryan saw that most of the people on the ground entered the left entrance while the Immortals and a few people on the ground entered the right entrance.

“Elder, is there a criterion for entering the right entrance?” Ryan asked the old man from before.

“The left entrance takes you to the common sitting area while the right entrance is meant for people with a powerful background. The Auction House provides them a private booth. The people entering the right entrance get many other benefits, such as their identity being hidden so that they can freely bid against other factions and so on,” the old man said in an envious tone. A canny smile appeared on Ryan’s face.

“Thanks, Elder,” Ryan said as he left the crowd that was slowly heading towards the left entrance and headed towards the right entrance which lacked a crowd lining up to enter it. The old man looked at Ryan’s departing figure with a stunned expression. Even before he could have warned Ryan about the other requirements of the right entrance, Ryan had already disappeared into it. The old man sighed seeing this. He just hoped that Ryan truly had a strong background and lots of Elemental stones.

After entering the right entrance and walking for some distance Ryan entered a lobby. The lobby had a reception and a few staircases that lead to upper floors of
the Auction House where the private booths were located.

Ryan approached the reception and took out the Heaven Sundering Family Clan’s medallion. He’d decided to use the medallion to gain a private booth for himself. He had to show the medallion to the Divine Martial Sect either way, so he’d decided to take a little advantage of it.

“Hello young Master, may I see an identification proof of the faction you belong to?” the woman at the reception asked politely. Ryan showed her the medallion of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan. The woman’s eyes went wide with shock for a moment though she quickly regained her composer.

“May I know your name young Master so that I can register you?” the woman asked with a smile. After seeing the Heaven Sundering Family Clan’s medallion, the woman was many times more polite and respectful towards Ryan than before.

“Ryan,” Ryan said and took the token given to him by the woman. The woman called an attendant to take Ryan to the booth she had allocated to him. The attendant took Ryan to the highest floor of the Auction House. This was the floor that had the best private booths and was used by only a few.

“Young Master, this is one of the best booths of our Auction House. We hope you like it. I will be standing outside the booth. You can call me if you need anything,” the attendant said as he opened the door of the private booth for Ryan. Ryan nodded his head and entered the private booth.

The booth was ten meters long and ten meters wide. The front of the booth had a window which gave a direct view to the stage where the items would be displayed as well as the general sitting area. The general sitting area was huge and could easily accommodate thousands of people at any given time.

Ryan took his seat and patiently waited for the auction to start.

After an hour or so, when the Auction House was filled, a beautiful woman walked onto the stage. She was the auctioneer for the day.

“Hello! My name is Jacqueline. I would like to thank you all for coming to our Auction House. The things to be auctioned off today are all rare and genuine. Some of the items can increase a Cultivation Level while others can be used for making treasured weapons.

“I know the reason most of you have assembled here today, but those two items will be auctioned off at the very end, so until then please be patient. Who knows? You might find a few things that interest you,” Jacqueline said with a smile. Some people protested about this, but in front of her charms, no one complained for long.

“The first item we are going to auction off is a box of Poison Ivy Mortal Plant spirits. The box contains twelve Poison Ivy Mortal Plant spirits. These Mortal Plant spirits can increasing the insights and understanding of a Mortal Realm Poison Martial Artist into Poison Elemental Laws by leaps and bounds, so that makes them highly beneficial for Mortal Realm Poison Martial Artists,” Jacqueline said as a man pushed a trolley onto the stage. The trolley had a glass box placed on it. The man placed the trolley in the middle of the stage so that everyone could verify the contents of the glass box.

The Poison Ivy Mortal Plant spirits looked like ordinary Poison Ivy plants, but their petals were releasing a purple-colored Poisonous aura. Since they were Mortal Plant spirits, that meant they had sentience and were perfectly capable of protecting themselves.

“It’s Poison Ivy Mortal Plant spirit for sure,” one of the guests in the general sitting area said after seeing the purple aura radiated by its flower petals.

“The bidding will start from twelve thousand Primary attribute high-grade Elemental stones,” Jacqueline said once everyone in the Auction House had verified the content of the glass box.

“Fifty thousand Primary attribute high-grade Elemental stones,” Ryan shouted loudly.

Complete silence followed Ryan’s bid. Everyone in the Auction House turned their heads and looked towards his booth. He’d attracted so much attention for two reasons. One reason was the enormously high bid placed by him. It was twice the actual price of these Poison ivy Mortal Plant spirits. The other reason was the location of his booth. It was on the fourth floor. The booths on this floor were only meant for people with very high status, so no one dared to outbid Ryan.

“Is there anyone else who wishes to bid for these Mortal Plant spirits?” Jacqueline asked, but no one showed any interest.

  “It’s fifty thousand. One.”

  “It’s fifty thousand. Two.”

“It’s fifty thousand. Three. This box of Poison Ivy Mortal Plant spirits now belongs to the young Master in Booth Number 5,” Jacqueline said as she declared Ryan’s bid as the winning bid. Jacqueline was happy as the Poison Ivy Mortal Plant spirits had been auctioned off for twice their actual price. She got a commission for every item she auctioned off and her commission would increase if she auctioned off an item way above its actual price.

“The next item is also a Mortal Plant spirit. This Mortal Plant spirit is called Dragon’s blood. This is quite a famous Fire Attribute Mortal Plant spirit …”

  The auctioned continued.

The things that were auctioned off after the Poison Ivy Mortal Plant spirit didn’t interest Ryan much. He was patiently waiting for the Dragon-serpent egg and Viper’s Touch Immortal Plant Spirit. He had been following the bids closely. The highest bid until now was for a sword which was a low-grade Immortal Artifact. The sword had sentience which made it priceless and the Auction House went into a complete frenzy upon seeing it. People bid for it without holding back. In the end, the person who out-bid the others paid eight hundred thousand Primary attribute high-grade Elemental stones. Ryan was then certain that the cost of the Dragon-serpent egg and the Viper’s Touch Immortal Plant Spirit wouldn’t exceed one million Primary attribute high-grade Elemental stones. Ryan didn’t have to worry about Elemental stones. His mother had given him enough. He was certain that his mother would also approve of his actions. The Dragon-serpent egg and Viper’s Touch Immortal Plant Spirit could increase his overall strength and powers exponentially.

Finally, Ryan’s wait was over. The Dragon-serpent egg was to be auctioned off next.

  Ch.11

An attendant slowly pushed a trolley onto the stage as Jacqueline announced that the auctioning of the star items would begin soon. The trolley held a black egg the size of a human head. The egg had black aura swirling around it, which gave a weird feeling to anyone looking at it. The aura was quite like Ryan’s Baleful aura but was quite weak in comparison. The egg had been placed inside a glass box to contain its aura.

Many people had jubilant expressions when they saw the egg of the Dragon-serpent. Many had come just for the egg. Everyone had different things in mind. Some wished to turn the Dragon-serpent egg into a pill, while some wished to turn it into a Guardian beast for their faction. The number of people who wished to turn the Dragon-serpent into a pill far exceeded those who wished to turn it into a Guardian beast, but neither situation was favorable for the Dragon-serpent. One lead to death and the other lead to eternal slavery.

Ryan activated his Asura eyes to look at the Dragon-serpent egg. Ryan was able to see a Serpentine Elemental Beast sleeping peacefully inside the black egg. The Dragon-serpent had a pitch-black body with the head of a dragon and the body of a serpent. Its head had two horns. Its serpentine body had razor sharp spikes growing all over it. Ryan could tell that this Dragon-serpent had a terrifying defense. The thing that alarmed Ryan was its Cultivation Level – it was already an Early Mortal King Beast even before its birth, due to its mid-grade bloodline purity.

“This Dragon-serpent is worthy of being coveted by so many people. It already has a Cultivation Level of Mortal King Realm. If it is allowed to grow, it will unquestionably become a Tyrannical existence in the future,” Ryan said with a big smile.

He had already decided to go all out for the Dragon-serpent and was ready to pay a big price for it. Ryan was certain he would be able to form an Equal contract with it because he possessed powerful Martial Spirits. He was certain too that its bloodline purity would go up by a level if he was able to form a
n Equal contract with it. That would entice the Dragon-serpent for sure.

“This Dragon-serpent is not normal, Ryan. Generally, two powerful bloodlines don’t easily coexist in a single body as they fight for supremacy. The bloodlines oppose each other, which mostly results in the Elemental Beast ending up dead,” Yama said.

Yama paused for a moment lost in thought. “Since this Dragon-serpent is able to accommodate two powerful bloodlines without much trouble that means its body is inordinately strong. It most likely possesses the inferior version of Asura Physique, that only Asura dragons with high-grade bloodline purity and original-grade bloodline purity possess. Generally, descendants of Asura Dragons with mid-grade bloodline purity have less chance of possessing the inferior version of Asura Physique, but without the inferior version of Asura Physique, it would have died a long time ago,” Yama said, as he was certain of that fact. Ryan was stunned on hearing this. If the Dragon-serpent possessed the inferior version of Asura Physique, then it would possess a body far more powerful than other Dragon-serpents.

“A Hybrid Elemental Beast is only weak if it is unable to accommodate two different bloodlines in its body. Since this Dragon-serpent is able to accommodate them, it is bound to be strong. You need to get this egg at any cost whether it possesses Asura Physique or not,” Earl said in an excited voice.

“Don’t worry, I intend to do so,” Ryan said as he intently looked at the black egg.
