God Slayer Vol.1 Page 19

Their mood worsened, when they received instructions from the Divine Martial Sect to follow Ryan’s script, and that the ones who violated this instruction would be given a death penalty. Initially, they’d been thinking of asking the Divine Martial Sect for help but seeing that even the Divine Martial Sect had no choice but to follow Ryan’s script, they helplessly shook their heads. They shuddered in fear when Ryan looked at them with a big smile on his face.

“What a terrifying schemer! He’s even forced the Divine Martial Sect to go along with his script,” all the people in the Auditorium were thinking. Haden and company were no different.

How old were they all? Most people were between fifteen to seventeen years of age in the Auditorium, but none of them had the ability to be as crafty or scheming as Ryan.

Ryan had a big smile on his face, which made many people uncomfortable in the Auditorium. They just avoided looking at his face.

A middle-aged person flew into the Auditorium through the hole that had been made in its wall. This man didn’t emit any aura when he flew into the Auditorium unlike the Immortal previously. In fact, he looked no different from a Mortal human being, but Ryan’s facial expression changed slightly, as the feeling he got from this man was quite similar to what he got from his grandfather.

Ancestor Level Martial Artist! A serious expression appeared on Ryan’s face.

The Ancestor Level Martial Artist descended in front of Ryan. It was none other than Raymond with a smile on his face.

“My name is Raymond. I am a Poison Death Dual Attribute Martial Artist,” Raymond said by way of introduction.

“Do you wish to become my disciple? I would like to clear a few things in the advance, though. I have killed a lot more people than I have saved with my medical skills because of which I have a lot of enemies. These enemies of mine will try to kill you without a doubt, if you become my disciple,” Raymond said with a sincere expression.

He didn’t wish to hide anything from Ryan, as he wanted to form a genuine Master-disciple relationship.

Ryan and the other newly recruited disciples had their mouths hanging wide open. They could all tell that Raymond was not a Normal Martial Artist, as he gave off a feeling of being a mighty being. Many disciples felt a great pressure just from Raymond being in the same room as them. This pressure originated from the vast difference in their strengths and powers.

“He actually got an offer to be someone’s disciple after the things he did!”

“There has to some mistake! How can a powerful Martial Artist think of taking a guy without morals as his disciple? Won’t it tarnish his reputation?”

“Yes, you are correct. It will tarnish his reputation without fail.”

All sorts of discussion broke out among the newly recruited disciples. They didn’t say these things aloud but were discussing amongst themselves via Mental-message transmission.

“Will there be any sorts of rules that I’ll need to follow?” Ryan asked cautiously. He was least bothered about the enemies of the person in front of him. What was more important to him was freedom: he didn’t like being bound by rules.

Raymond was taken aback for a second. He hadn’t expected that Ryan would be least bothered about his enemies, and more concerned about freedom.

“I am not fond of rules and regulations, but just remain within the bounds of a human being,” Raymond said with a smile. Ryan nodded his head, as he too had no intention of becoming a demon or a devil.

He gave Raymond a deep bow and said, “Thank you. I would like to become your disciple.”

Raymond smiled and once again asked, “Are you OK with my reputation not being good? I also have a lot of enemies. They will target you after you become my disciple.”

He was testing Ryan’s resolve, as he didn’t want Ryan to quit in between.

“No problems at all,” Ryan said with a sincere expression. Many people in the Auditorium felt that the person standing in front of them was not Ryan. The Ryan in their mind was a crafty person, not a sincere one.

“OK. From today onwards you are my disciple. I will return to the Sect. Try to perform well in the Marathon. I will be watching you,” Raymond said as he turned into a streak of light and left through the hole in the Auditorium’s wall.

Everyone in the Auditorium came forward to congratulate Ryan. Haden and company were no different. It was a big moment for Ryan, as it was not easy to become the disciple of Ancestor Level Martial Artists.

Ryan suddenly remembered something, so he asked Haden and company, “By the way, what was the background of the guy, I killed?”

Everyone in the auditorium looked at Ryan with odd expressions.

“I seriously don’t know. I killed him because he had no good intentions towards me,” Ryan said, in defence.

“That was Theon of the Red Sun Family Clan. He was one of the best youngsters of his Family Clan,” Haden said in a grave manner.

“If the news spreads out that a member of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan has killed Theon, then a big war might start between the Red Sun Family Clan and the Heaven Sundering Family Clan,” Haden continued, also in a grave manner.

“Well, then I will expect all of you in the Auditorium to keep this matter a secret, as the flames of war might even burn you and your families,” Ryan said with a roguish smile.

“A big faction might not necessarily start a war just because of the death of youngster, but all of you might be killed for helping me to fool the Immortal Realm Martial Artist from the Red Sun Family Clan. Even if a war started, it would be on a small scale,” he warned as he left the Auditorium.

Many people broke out in cold sweats, as what Ryan had said was absolutely true. Big and powerful factions don’t go to war with each other that easily, as the losses from a war can easily eclipse the gains from it. This was known to everybody in the Auditorium, and all the members of the Upper echelon of the Divine Martial Sect as well.

Ryan took out his Mental-message transmission orb from his Spatial pouch and contacted his mother. He had to at least inform her about the incident, even though it was going to be covered up by Divine Martial Sect.

Mental-message transmission orbs are similar to phones on Earth but instead of transmitting voice they transmit mental-messages over long distances. Ryan channeled his Spirit Power into the Mental-message transmission orb. It started to shine and connected with his mother’s Mental-message transmission orb.

A Mental-message transmission orb has two modes: single mode and multi-mode. Single mode only allows a single receiver to connect with the Mental-message transmission orb, so the sender’s mental-messages are received by only one person. Multi-mode allows a lot of receivers to connect to the Mental-message transmission orb to receiver the sender’s mental-messages, but only the receiver holding the Mental-message transmission orb can send mental-messages back to the sender. Currently, Ryan had placed his Mental-message transmission orb on single mode.

  --------------------------x--------------------------

The Heaven Sundering Family Clan had established itself on the eastern side of Shimmering Sky Continent on Grandura. It is situated in Heavenly Forest, which spreads over an area of a hundred thousand square kilometers. This forest contains very many high-grade Treasure Lands of various attributes and is coveted by many factions of Grandura because of the sheer number of Heavenly Treasures produced by it each year – which ensure that the Heaven Sundering Family Clan remains strong.

The Heaven Sundering Family Clan is situated in the center of Heavenly Forest, but Heavenly Forest is home also to powerful Elemental Beasts. Most of those Elemental Beasts are descendants of either Ancient Elemental Beasts or Divine Elemental Beasts and are spread everywhere over Heavenly Forest, except for the Inner region where the Heaven Sundering Family Clan has established itself. The Elemental Beasts act as a deterrent against people who have bad intentions towards the Heaven Sundering Family Clan.

The Treasure Lands in the Inner region of Heavenl
y Forest are in the control of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan, while the Middle and Outer regions of the Heavenly Forest are in control of the Elemental Beasts. The Heaven Sundering Family Clan is not greedy, and never targets the Heavenly Treasures born in Outer and Middle regions of the forest.

The Inner region of Heavenly Forest has been utterly transformed by the Heaven Sundering Family Clan into a massive city, with magnificent palaces and buildings. It is named Heavenly City and is a major city on Shimmering Sky Continent. The only way people can get there is through Teleportation circles, but the number of people that can come to the city each day is limited for security reasons. The city is mostly inhabited by members of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan.

The day Emilia returned to the Heavenly City caused a big uproar in the Family Clan. She hadn’t returned for over two decades and had ignored all their Mental-message transmissions ordering her to return at the earliest. An even bigger uproar occurred when she informed her Family Clan that she had a son. She’d left the Family Clan in anger because of a marriage that was being forced upon her, so they hadn’t expected her to get married and have a child with someone during those two decades of disappearance.

She was one of the finest talents of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan, so her coming back was a big thing either way. The branch of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan to which she belonged was overjoyed because of her return. They even readily accepted Ryan as a family member, and the members of the Family Clan’s Upper echelons didn’t give Emilia any sort of punishment for her disappearance for two decades.

That day, the branch of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan to which Emilia belonged was celebrating her return and all the people from her branch had arrived that day to meet her. Emilia was happy too, as she had missed her Family Clan quite a lot during the previous two decades.

There has always been major competition between the different branches of the Heaven Sundering Family Clan. Emilia’s return significantly increased the strength and powers of her branch, which was meaningful for it too.

Currently, Emilia was conversing with all the important people of her branch when her Spatial pouch started to vibrate: she had received a Mental-message transmission on her Mental-message transmission orb and could tell that it was from Ryan.

“Excuse me, I will have to leave for a moment. I have received a Mental-message transmission from my son,” Emilia said with a smile as she took out her Mental-message transmission orb.

“We are all a big family. Just talk right here. I would like to hear my grandson’s voice,” a middle-aged man, who was a little drunk, said. He was Emilia’s father and was named Blasius.

Blasius and Emilia’s mother had had six children in total. Emilia was the eldest and their only daughter, and their sons had yet to marry, so they had no other grandchildren except for Ryan. They had been entranced when Emilia had told them about Ryan, as they’d always wanted a grandchild. They wanted to meet him immediately, but Emilia insisted on letting Ryan get settled in the Divine Martial Sect first before calling him to the Family Clan.

Blasius even called over his wife, Alexis, and Emilia’s younger brothers. Alexis was a stunning beauty just like Emilia, and she wished to talk to her grandson too. Emilia’s younger brothers were all handsome men and they also wanted to talk to their nephew.

Emilia nodded her head as a smile appeared on her face. She knew her family was quite eager to meet Ryan, so she didn’t decline their request. She activated the Mental-message transmission orb and put it on multi-mode so everyone would be able to hear him.

“Mother, don’t say anything before I finish. I need to tell you something important,” Ryan's Mental-message came from the Mental-message transmission orb. Emilia and the other people around her were taken aback by such a declaration and soon worrying expressions appeared on all their faces.

“A guy came along with a few of his henchmen to kill me without any reason. All of them were Mortal Lord Realm Martial Artists, but I killed him in return, along with his henchmen. He belonged to the Red Sun Family Clan, and his name was Theon,” Ryan blurted out.

“After killing him, I came to know that your Family Clan and the Red Sun Family Clan are not on good terms, and that there seems to be some sort of ceasefire agreement between both Family Clans,” Ryan rushed on to finish narrating the whole incident to his mother.

Emilia and the other people from her branch had violent changes in their facial expressions when they heard that the people who’d attacked Ryan were from the Red Sun Family Clan. Their expressions turned ugly, when they came to know that Ryan had already killed them all, as they knew this could lead to a complicated situation.

“You don’t need to worry about anything. I already have everything under my control here. I have already created a situation forcing the Divine Martial Sect to hide the fact that I was the one who killed Theon,” he further explained.

“If they don’t do so, then their relationship with the Red Sun Family Clan will deteriorate terribly too. I am sure that they don’t want something like that to happen – in fact, I am certain of that,” Ryan said with a laugh.

All the people listening had stunned expressions for some time. Many of them didn’t believe Ryan. They had someone confirm Ryan’s claims with the Divine Martial Sect and didn’t have to wait for long before they were forced to accept the reality that Ryan seriously had everything under his control.

“He is quite shrewd for his age,” all the people from Emilia’s branch thought. It is not easy to make a faction follow your script.

“How did you manage to kill so many Mortal Lords with your Early Mortal Elite Realm Cultivation Level?” Emilia couldn’t help but ask once it was confirmed that Ryan was telling the truth, as she was concerned about that matter. The people from her branch were unable to keep calm when they heard of Ryan’s fake Cultivation Level from Emilia.

“Actually, I have unsealed an Innate Ability that lets me change the Cultivation Level others perceive. I am really a Late Mortal Elite Realm Martial Artist,” Ryan said with a dry laugh and once again everyone listening had changes in their expressions.

“He is so shameless,” people from Emilia’s branch thought as they looked at Emilia with odd gazes. In the Heaven Sundering Family Clan, honor was the most important thing, so it was a very rare occurrence for someone to be shameless in the Heaven Sundering Family.

“So that’s how it is,” Emilia said when she understood everything. She avoided the gazes of the people from her branch, as they made her little uncomfortable even though she was feeling giddy deep down knowing that Ryan was a Late Mortal Elite Realm Martial Artist. Ryan was just fifteen years old and for him to be in the Late Mortal Elite Realm was a big achievement. Not many people could mimic that feat.

“Mother, I have formed an Equal contract with an Elemental Beast and a Floral contract with a Plant spirit,” Ryan said and anyone could tell that he was thrilled. Emilia had a sudden change in expression. She’d been thinking of finding a descendant of a Divine Elemental Beast or an Ancient Elemental Beast for Ryan, so he could attempt to form an Equal contract with it, as she was certain that Ryan would have no problem in forming one with one of them.

“What species are the Elemental Beast and the Plant spirit?” Emilia asked slowly. She was just hoping for a descendant of an Ancient or a Divine Elemental Beast as the number of Equal contracts or its equivalent one can form is limited to the number of Soul Cores or Martial Spirits a Martial Artist possesses. She didn’t want Ryan to have picked weak partners. The other people from Emilia’s branch were also listening attentively.

“You try to guess. Thorn, introduce yourself,” Ryan said enthusiastically, as he moved the Mental-message transmission orb towards his right sleeve.

“Roar!” Thorn poked his head out of Ryan’s right sleeve and issued a low roar, but this low roar from Thorn made many people with low Cultivation Levels connected to Emilia’s Mental-message transmission orb dizzy. The stronger Martial Ar
tists quickly helped them stabilize. Emilia was fine, but she was astonished by Thorn’s roar, as she could tell that Thorn’s roar was not normal – and it proved he was not a Normal Elemental Beast. Thorn being a descendant of an Asura Dragon possessed the special roar of Asura Dragons, which attacks the minds of weaker beings. Ryan was fine as Thorn’s roar was not directed at him.

“Mom, are you able to guess? Should I ask Thorn roar once more?” Ryan said. Anyone could tell he was excited.

Everyone’s expressions changed though, because if the weaker people heard that roar again, they’d obviously faint.

“No, don’t,” Emilia quickly said, but a smile soon bloomed on her face though. She was certain that roar belonged to a descendant of either an Ancient Elemental Beast or a Divine Elemental Beast.

“I am unable to guess. Quickly tell!” Emilia asked excitedly. Other people from her branch also perked up their ears.

“Thorn is a Hybrid Elemental Beast. He is a direct descendant of an Asura Dragon and a Heaven Devouring Serpent. One of his bloodlines is of high-grade bloodline purity while other is of mid-grade bloodline purity,” Ryan said in an excited voice.

“What??” Emilia said in great shock – and Emilia’s family and other people from her branch were equally shocked. It was not easy to make Equal contracts with Elemental Beasts of such high bloodline purity.

“Initially, Thorn had both his bloodlines at mid-grade bloodline purity, but the bloodline purity one of his bloodlines increased to high-grade after he formed an Equal contract with me. He even gained Hell’s Fire flame from me,” Ryan said as he informed his mother.

Emilia’s family members and other people from her branch were shocked once again, when they heard that Ryan possessed Hell’s Fire flame. The fame of the Hell’s Fire flame had spread wide due to its extensive use by the Asuras for slaughtering their enemies. Emilia understood their reaction and signaled to them to wait for some time, as she would explain everything soon.
